I haven't seen Water yet, and haven't decided to torrent it or not. That being said, you are REALLY reaching for things to gripe about Kevin. To dial the ship, they had to hook a stargate up to a PLANET. Did you miss that part? What would make anyone think that a ship would have some sort of storage device capable of that amount of power?
