I think this season of The Amazing Race is the best they've had in a
long time. Oddly enough, there were no major villains to root against,
only minor ones with the last for me eliminated last night.
It started with an immediate elimination. Last week you had a team
unable to finish a challenge because of one person's fear of water.
Height and sharks didn't help either, I'm sure. This week the
all-female team faced some significant difficulty when they couldn't
ring the bell. And they didn't have the strength to hit the golf balls
any significant distance so they could finish a hole in eight strokes.
The previews show next week they again have the challenge with the
rolls of hay. That's the one that ended the competition for the female
team a few seasons ago when Phil walked into the field at dark and
Philiminated them.
It seems like these tasks might prove exceptionally difficult for
women teams and maybe for teams of seniors. I"m not complaining. Maybe
the tasks have not been challenging enough before.
The gong was doable by the female teams, by the way. The big problem
had to do with leverage, as was often demonstrated by Maria when she
keep one hand near the top of the handle and the puck hardly moved
towards the gong. Also, neither of them put their legs into the swing.
In short, they swung like girls.
