I only catch CFerg sporadically, but I find I almost always enjoy it
and I do like his interviews. I am only vaguely aware of the "earn
your plug" feature on Leno - I saw him talk about it on one of the
shows I monitored briefly a week or two ago.

I am imagining that one nice result of fewer movie pushing would be
more book authors (which is what makes TDS and CR interviews so often
so good). Almost be definition, authors of books have something to
say, which can not be said of movie stars and starlets.

If the mindless, automatic booking of the top starts of recent films
actually increases box office, then I guess that is self-justifying
and I will have to live with it - but the suspicion that this is one
ritual that does not really serve its purpose but makes us all suffer
torments me.
