This brings up a thought I had last night: during the first two rounds of the NFL playoffs, I don't believe the networks know what time slots they have (only the days). If that's the case, FOX may have been stuck with the late game (and the unanticipated overtime) on a night they probably didn't want to have it.
My best guess was that FOX assumed that they would have the early game on Sunday, assuring a 7:00 pm start for the special leading into the 8:00 pm episode. Instead, they lost the 7:00 slot, and had to switch to the odd 8:30 start time.
