To be clear, the frat boys who loved Andrews loved her as the cool
girl next door. Andrews effectively got the joke, and its what made
her even more beloved When the video became publicly known (after
missteps by both ESPN and Deadspin.com) there was a real sense of
betrayal because they had a sense of appreciation for her. I remember
following that weekend it broke on Deadspin, and there was a real
sense of sadness about and towards Andrews by a group that wasn't
known for their civility: the line had been crossed, and even if
they'd have given almost anything they had to see Andrews nekkid, they
weren't going to see her nekkid this way.

The recorder, btw, was not a frat boy.
