"The Tonight Show with The Guy Liked By Septuagenarians"

Cold Open:
Oddly enough, I agreed with the premise that "The Tonight Show with
Conan O'Brien" was all a dream. Clearly, we have been awakened.

Monologue:
They kept the same 25 jokes in storage while Jay was away.

Hey. isn't it Monday night?:
No "Headlines"

"The Search for a Desk" segment:
You know what might have shown a hint of class? Using Johnny Carson's
desk. Instead, his desk looks like it was stolen from the news set of
a small market Fox affiliate.

Referencing Sarah Palin's appearance on the show Tuesday night:
Jay said, "She's never been on a late-night show before." Um... unless
you count her appearances on "Late Late Show" or her appearance on
"The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien"

Regarding Jamie Foxx's well intentioned attempt to get the whitest
audience in America to play along with him as he said "When I say
welcome, you say back":
Why didn't they edit out the shots of the crowd visibly NOT
understanding their part in this? Really, if nothing else, watch the
beginning of this segment so you can see the genuine looks of
confusion on audience members. I'm convinced they added the audio
"back" from a different show, because it didn't appear that anybody
was playing along. The white folks can handle the wave, though.

Regarding the entire Jamie Foxx segment:
I like Jamie Foxx. Wasn't wild about the ostentatious display.
Reminded me of the worst aspects of Jack Black and all of Dane Cook.
And I found it odd that they showed such an extended clip of Oprah's
show during Foxx's segment. What that said to me was Jay's show can't
produce memorable moments, but Oprah's can.

Regarding Lindsey Vonn's walk to the desk:
Olympic gold medal winner who can't walk in high heels?

Regarding the generic, bland country western guy:
Brad P. is like nearly every other country star I've seen. Frankly,
Jon from the 2nd season of "The Real World" had a more interesting
voice.

General comments:
Don't know why they felt the need to add an archway to the set. Also
don't know how the gears relate to anything (although I think one of
them was loose). Wondered why Leno didn't take 30 seconds to talk to
Conan's fans, or even Conan's crew -- didn't wonder for very long.
