Hasn't it already happened in the past few years that the Oscarcast was at the end of February? As for "Hurt Locker," the film was already out on DVD when the nominations came out. Summit put it back in theaters the week before the Oscars, but it's still on a relatively low number of screens, due to many chains refusing to book it (only Mark Cuban wants to sell you the movie on DVD as you come out of the theater) and has not added too much to its gross. That and the undeniable fact that movies about Iraq are box office poison, Oscar or not. -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
