KTVG, Hill Broadcasting will cease operation at the end of the month. It isn't public yet, but it isn't much of a secret either. The previous station that went dark was KSNB. Both of those were full power Fox stations, with KSNB being a satellite ABC affiliate up to about 12 years ago or so. The only Fox left out here is KFXL, which has a low power facility in Lincoln, and a low power transmitter (ABC facilities dot-2) in the tri-cities, metro B DMA. The signal is originated in Axtel, and sent via T1 to Lincoln (illegal as hell).
The whole mess in this market is due to the Pappas debacle. Unless someone throws some serious cash to the KHGI/KFXL situation, they are doomed. While the only station licensed to Pappas is KHGI (with a satellite location in Hayes, KWNB), he was running all these facilities under the guise of LMA's. The KFXL facility is owned on paper by the parent company of the Omaha World Herald. Politics and dummy corporations run by puppets, of which I used to be one of until 10 years ago.
