Sorry for replying to my own email but according to the folks at finalgear.com, Carolla himself said he can't do it due to a commitment with NBC.
Tanner Faust is back in though. I've seen some of Tanner's work and he's a bit...wooden. Hopefully they'll get him to loosen up.
