FOX disowns 'Sons of Tucson'

FOX has a dozen live-action comedy pilots in development this season.
That's probably a good thing, because by the end of the summer, it
will have no live-action, half-hour comedies on its schedule.
The network has dropped the ax on newcomer "Sons of Tucson," which has
fared poorly in its brief run on Sunday nights this spring. The show,
which stars Tyler Labine ("Reaper") as a dad-for-hire to three boys
whose real father is in prison, averaged under 4 million viewers and a
1.9 rating among adults 18-49 in its four telecasts.
Labine took a role in a pilot -- "True Love" at CBS -- last week,
signaling that "Sons" might not be long for this world.
"American Dad" will return to the 9:30 p.m. Sunday spot this week
(April 11). FOX will air the remaining episodes of "Sons of Tucson" at
7:30 p.m. Sundays in the summer, starting June 6.
The network's other live-action comedy, the already done-for "'Til
Death," will conclude its run on June 20.
