I know he does explain to guests who are unfamiliar with the program what
his schtick is, but I have not heard anything about an actual pre-interview
of the type the broadcast talk shows typically do. I have been assuming that
one of the 10 plates Colbert is spinning in that very smart head of his is
looking for a good exit line, and I am have been quite sure that I have seen
him cut an interview short when he sees a good line to end on pop up. But he
does it so often, and some of them are so perfect, that it makes me think at
least some of them are planned - I suppose he could either on the fly on in
advance be at least premeditating a straight line that might allow a guest
to give a good exit line.

Warren is my mind-babe of the the last few years. If there was a Playboy
magazine for smart and responsible women, she would be the centerfold every
month.
