There was only one obvious act break in the video I watched, and no commercials. I say that because I think it was set up as a one-hour, but I could be wrong.
But it's definitely closer to dramedy than sitcom. They weren't going for jokes, but there were humorous moments. Personally I think they could use more of those humorous moments. Oh, and if you're not used to Michael Chiklis smiling, you'll have plenty of exposure here.
