I'd like to free Hershiser to become the Dodgers' pitching coach, but that's neither here nor there. Morgan is a well-documented moron, and Miller isn't bad -- but he's exactly the guy I was thinking of when I mentioned that Buck needed someone to cut down on his excesses. One of the best announcing teams I've ever heard -- and this is heresy for a Dodger fan -- was Miller working with former Giant broadcaster Lon Simmons. Simmons's attitude all but told Miller to "Cool it, junior; you're not that good," and Miller brought out an energy that Simmons otherwise lacked. --Dave Sikula -- TV or Not TV ....
