For the last few days, every time I've been on Facebook I've seen an ad with the headline "The New NBC Late Night?" Underneath a picture of a man who looks like a game show host is the copy "See what NBC might have to resort to if they keep mistreating their workers."
The link is to http://nbcfalllineup.com/, a site run by NABET/CWA, the union whose members who work as technicians and news writers at NBC have been working without a contract for over a year. The site more or less says that unless NBC settles on a contract, they will be forced to air nothing but YouTube videos and remain in fourth place, underneath a selection of cats typing, driving through a tunnel and the only professionally-produced video, the guy who looks like a game show singing wordlessly (from a foreign TV network, but I don't know which one). Considering that this is upfront week and the imminent takeover by Comcast, this is not comforting to NBC--but are they planning to have Comcast do the dirty work and union-bust NABET/CWA? -- TV or Not TV ....
