I have heard that several ESPN executives think the World Cup will pass the
Olympics in popularity in the coming years so they may treat this year as a
loss leader with the idea of getting folks on board for Rio in 2014. Rio,
by the way, has the World Cup in 2014 and the Summer Olympics in 2016.

The players and coaches also do interviews at the end of the games where
there is a board with sponsors' logos appearing behind the players.

I'm of a different school on this - their country, their traditions. Now,
the Florida Marlins were morons for giving the vuvuzelas out to fans before
their game against the Rays. It caused line-up confusion during a double
switch which may have cost them the game (and the Yankees sole possession of
first place - the real important part).
