Well, its not exactly like Nelson Mandela played a vuvuzela to fortify
himself thorough the long nights of injustice on Robben Island. From what I
have been able to find out on google (and consistent with the report Friday
of Andy Saltsman) these things go back about 15 or 20 years in South Africa.
"The Wave" has a longer tradition in United States sporting events, and I
hate that too.
