http://tvguide.ca/TVNews/Articles/100623_glee_reality_dead_AD.htm Finally, someone over at Fox has recognized there is such a thing as overexposure. Remember that =Glee= reality show the network promised last January, when it also announced a second season of the scripted series was a go? It's officially dead, according to =New York Magazine=. Why? Because creator and executive producer Ryan Murphy feels having a reality show at this point would take focus away from Season 2. The original plan was to scour America this summer and find additions for New Directions in an =Idol=-esque show that would lead-in to the upcoming sophomore season, an announcement that spawned heaps of MySpace and YouTube auditions that the network has since collected and filed. According to the publication, even though Fox didn't fight the decision it is still looking through the videos and will choose several winners for one-off spots on the upcoming season of =Glee=, which has been renewed for an additional third season since January. The cancellation of the show is probably a relief to the overworked cast, who in addition to singing, dancing and acting on the series have also toured, presented at various awards shows, released several albums and even frolicked at the White House this past Easter. It's no wonder they're looking for a bit of stress release, right? With the long workdays and raging young hormones, Murphy reportedly had to ban the cast from having sex in their trailers. According to =The Sun=, Murphy thinks it natural for the trailers to be used as meeting points given the environment and the age of his cast, but that he has "a rule: don't do it in your trailer." The creator also added that "They've broken that rule on many occasions" anyhow. No wonder there's so much buzz about show hook-ups; Cory Monteith and Lea Michelle, Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz and Mark Salling and Naya Rivera have all been rumoured to be closer than just friends at one point or another since the show's conception. Me now: -- Several instances of "Really?!!" (Seth Meyers visited SportsCenter earlier today; he'll host The ESPY Awards.) -- NYMag.com has no record of such an article. -- BOB -- TV or Not TV ....
