But assuming he is Holmesian, it would support the point that an attempt to bring Holmes into the 21st century would have to do more than simply depict a private investigator on terrible adventures. It would have to try to imagine the various relationships Holmes had with social, historical and intellectual forces and then transpose them into a new context. -- TV or Not TV ....
