KCET, whose most notable contributions to the PBS network, "Hollywood Television Theater" and Carl Sagan's "Cosmos," aired decades ago, is considering selling its historic studio facility (the old Monogram lot that's the oldest studio lot still in use in Hollywood), merging with Orange County's KOCE (which was almost taken away by a religious group a few years ago) or--and they emphasize this is only last-ditch-- dropping PBS affiliation, making KOCE very happy:
