Yes. I meant this somewhat ironically - the actual article is headlined "Jay
Leno Raises $100,000 for Gulf Coast Recovery" with a photo of him giving one
of those over sized checks. The comedy show he did at the casino raised
$90,336, and it says Leno kicked in the rest to make the check 100K. My
reaction, too, was that this was nice, but from a guy who could pretty
easily just write the 100K check himself without noticing it too much it
didn't seem to merit a big headline.

That is probably mean spirited, for all we know Leno gives a huge chunk of
his Today Show millions to charity on the down low, eschewing publicity (as
Dave does).
