I think there was a misunderstanding, especially if the OP does not live in the States (or in any other country with advanced streaming/ downloading options offered to the viewers). In the rest of the world (i.e. Europe), "watching TV" almost always means "sit on the couch, get the TV- control and zap between channels" as the network programmers are still in charge of "average home entertainment".
