Well, the few times the UK boys have used boats, they've been passengers as
much
as they've been at the helm. In the Riviera race (the closest comparison to
the
Florida race from last weekend, just boat and car), May only got to steer in
the
harbor. But he did manage to seem more engaged riding in a speedboat than
Rutledge did. We didn't even see any tasteful shots of vomiting.

I do wonder if Top Gear USA will manage to get Indy or NASCAR drivers to post
laps like the F1 boys have done for the mothership. I have to think that would
have some positive impact on ratings.

At this point, I have to say that of the three, Rutledge Wood is dead
weight on the show. In last weekend's episode, the guys raced in a
plane, boat, and car, but only one of the the three actually drove the
vehicle in question. I've noticed Rutledge sit in the passenger seat
for many of the challenges, and it is starting to annoy me. That
episode would have been better if the other guys had learned to fly or
steer a speed boat. Having Faust and Wood just sitting in vehicles
watching other people drive seemed like a waste.
