The money saved on music rights (and not having to pay TV Guide for showing original covers, but using "evocative" knockoffs instead) must have gone to the (bad-)dreamlike recreations of old radio and TV production.
As for comprehensiveness, I had the feeling that the choice of shows covered was dictated by the availability of interview subjects, rather than the other way around. Do you suppose Patricia Crowley is related to the documentarian? She's not exactly what I'd call an icon of classic TV, and yet she keeps showing up. I would contact PBS to complain about these shows, but I'm sure that there's no one there who possesses the ability to feel shame. jd On Fri, Feb 4, 2011 at 2:02 AM, Kevin M. <[email protected]> wrote: > I've caught two installments of the PBS doc about the "golden age" of > television, and I'm left wanting.
