The $667M purchase of Elisabeth Murdoch's Shine Group, best known in the U.S. as the producer (from its Reveille division acquired from Ben Silverman in 2008, when the latter was screwing up NBC) of "The Office" and "The Biggest Loser" (and among Brit TV lovers for "Spooks/ MI:5" and "Life on Mars") could be easily interpreted as not so much adding an arsenal of programming to the News Corp. war chest as Rupert getting the most successful member of his family in line for succession:
