And one vestige of SNC lives on--when ABC took over ESPN, they give the net the SNC music package, since the channel had such a short life with little carriage. They immediately used one of the cuts on the package as the theme for "SportsCenter" (which contained the "dah-da- dah-da-da-DAHHH..." line that I assume was SNC's primary theme) and then a few years later switched to another cut from the package which featured a certain three-note repeated signature--and I don't think I need to describe that to you any more. Unfortunately, co-composer Annie Roboff doesn't see a penny of royalties, since she and her partner sold off the package to ABC for a flat fee (but considering she co-wrote the Faith Hill song "This Kiss," among other things, she's not doing bad). -- TV or Not TV ....
