A couple of things about the numbers in the EW story (which is a little old by now) - one is that the season lows reported the previous week were when it was up against the NCAA; also, the episode that aired since the article (last Friday) had a nice ratings bounce-back. Also, this show benefits disproportionately from DVR viewing - though the tvbythenumbers folks are not convinced that makes a big difference to the bottom line figure advertisers pay. They also suggest that next season Fringe's lead-in will be Bones, which I guess is a little more compatible. TVBTN also suggests that this might be bad news for Lie to Me, Chicago Code and Human Factor (and listing those, along with Fringe, makes me surprised to realize that there are 4 shows on Fox that I like and record and watch regularly). Of those 3 they seem to think Lie To Me has some chance of getting renewed, if for no other reason than to have filler on hand to throw in the breach in the event of another Lone Star debacle. They are most skeptical about Human Factor. I liked HF, but I am also content with the run it has had. I like Chicago Code (didn't think that I would).
