This Mother's Day, my brother and I installed a new kitchen sink and faucet. My brother did the heavy lifting, but all of the connections and related stuff were handled by me. I did not use any manuals or how-to guides. Instead, I relied on the over 25 years of watching home improvement shows, specifically "This Old House" on PBS. Shows that spotlight actual information on how to do things, instead of shows on TLC that make homeowners cry and teach audiences nothing. I know even the PBS shows have changed and recently tend to feature less instructional elements, but I know as fact that I could not have done this without PBS.
So a tip of my hat to Bob Vila, Norm Abram, Richard Trethewey, Tom Silva, and the rest of the crew at "This Old House." I experienced mild confusion when the modern faucet's hoses didn't fit the older connections, but it all worked out. The only thing I did wrong was connect the hot and cold hoses to the wrong connections, and that was bound to happen anyway so I don't fault them. -- Kevin M. (RPCV) -- TV or Not TV ....
