"Hometime" has always been geared more toward how to be a general contractor and manage projects as opposed to tackle thew work yourself.
Umm...not really. S1 (with wife #1 Peggy Knapp) was all DIY in a studio. Jojo (wife #2) did tons of DIY stuff...everything from stripping/refinishing furniture to a two-story add-on.
They did do a series of eps with Jojo about being your own contractor and still going to work, being a married couple, etc.
Robin's (wife #3) first episode was building a deck. They did an episode that covered wallpaper and painting with more emphasis placed on contracting.
I think the last Hometime I remember seeing involved upgrading Dean's parent's house to make it elderly friendly.
