He'd previously stated it in the intro to his latest book, but he said it again in an interview the other day (well, HE didn't say it, but you get the idea). I have no problem with Hawking stating his opinions, and I'm not even troubled when they make the news. But when Diane Sawyer's ABC newscast spends about three minutes on the story, I really wish they would have chosen someone other than a 12-year-old boy to represent an alternative view. Heck even Kirk Cameron's recent remarks could have better framed the debate. Seriously, how did that decision get made in the newsroom? Question: "Who can we get to counter the claim made by possibly the keenest mind of his generation?"
