I haven't watched the show and won't be watching this, but the format
confuses me. My impression -- from the endless ads -- was that the
winner would be judged solely on the quality of his or her voice, but
if, after the first round, the appearance of each contestant is known
to the judges, doesn't the premise fall apart? Or does it matter?
