To be honest, it's barely been used so far.

You won't have seen any Coke bottles on the most recent series of the
X-Factor for example, and the "This Morning" example is poor for the
advertiser because it barely appears. And in the UK, The Apprentice (which
always seems to have more product placement than any other show in history)
is on the BBC and therefore has none at all!

Of course, if a UK broadcaster buys in a US drama with product placement, it
gets broadcast without a murmur...
