It will be hosted by Neil de Grasse Tyson, noted astrophysicist, host of NOVA's scienceNOW, and still the all-time leader for guest appearances on The Colbert Report (probably The Daily Show as well, but I think Fareed Zakaria may be right up there).
As for the perennial mixed messages of Fox and FNC, I'll refer folks to the Simpsons episode where Kent Brockman had to live with the Simpsons due to an on-air expletive. Lisa points out the programming contradiction, probably for neither the first nor last time on the program. David ________________________________ From: Wesley McGee <[email protected]> Subject: [TV orNotTV] Fox to air new science doc Cosmos, produced by Seth McFarlane, Ann Druyan Be honest, how many of you expected to ever see an email start with those words. I never pictured Seth MacFarlane tackling this as a project although you can see some of the science nerd in some of the stuff he put in his three shows (he also seems to be a musical theatre nerd). It's good to see him teaming up with the late Carl Sagan's old crew (Ann Druyan was his wife and producer on the original show). I will also note with irony that Fox's other network is the one that repeatedly has trouble with basic science -- when not thinking all scientists are part of a massive conspiracy to end the western way of life. http://www.deadline.com/2011/08/fox-orders-13-episode-sequel-to-carl-sagans-cosmos-docu-series-to-be-produced-by-seth-macfarlane-for-2013-launch/ -- Wesley McGee http://www.ambivi.com http://drawing-a-blank.tumblr.com -- TV or Not TV ....
