Who also wanted to buy Hulu, but didn't have the money? DirecTV. Presumably
from the same FT story as the other news (with it being behind a hard
paywall, I cannot see it), I learned of it through VentureBeat's summary (
http://j.mp/reuLqi ). VB sees Amazon as the current favorite to win Hulu's
hand in marriage because of family (Hulu CEO Jason Kilar comes from Amazon).
And as you said, Amazon values Hulu for its streaming service.
