I like Whitney Cummings, who co-wrote "2 Broke Girls," and Aaron Barnhart
had positive words for it, so I decided to stay tuned in for it after "2.5
Men."
Overall, I wasn't impressed. I'll give it another chance and watch another
episode, but nothing jumped out at me. The humor wasn't that great. I didn't
find any of the characters compelling. I think my biggest problem was that
it seemed so predictable.
The lack of humor is what bothered me the most. I liked two jokes: That the
Korean restaurant owner changed his name to Bryce Lee and one I can't
remember.
But so much of the other humor misfired, like the joke about the Russian
waitress having sex on the job and the waitress telling a customer, "she
coming," or the joke about hoping the white stain in the Russian waitress
uniform is clam chowder, or the joke about the hat and Coldplay, or them
sitting on the horse in the backyard.
The first episode introduces the characters. Let's see how they develop.
By the way, the previews for Cummings' NBC show on the web look abysmal.
I'll check out that show, too, but I'm not optimistic.
