I never had a problem with Buck. The problem I see is that FOX makes him their #1 play-by-play guy, which puts him at the level of Curt Gowdy, Keith Jackson, Al Michaels, and Bob Costas, and Buck just isn't at that level. There's some fan resentment that they're getting Buck at all of the major baseball and football events. At this point, with the egos involved, I don't know that the network can rotate announcers, but that could take some of the pressure off Buck. Building on what Joe posts above, people might gripe about Buck, but I don't think anybody would turn off a game he was announcing. -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
