I use an old Hotmail account for surveys and online forms, etc. I use this Gmail account exclusively for the message board (I had to after Google mysteriously permanently banned my primary account from Google Groups), yet NBC still tracked me down > I don't think what NBC is doing is especially silly as long as they > are giving some value to people who join their fan community. That's the point. As I teach my students about online marketing, if you aren't creating an active/engaged environment, don't bother with an online presence. NBC's web division used to be cutting edge (anyone remember Homicide: Second Unit?) and it drew people to their website. But now they are welcoming viewers in November, six or seven weeks after the start of the fall season... and their primary draw is a series of chatroom discussions during a whopping four shows. -- Kevin M.
