Music rights and clearances have to be preapproved before any music
can be played on a talk show. There is BMI and ASCAP licensing issues
and a lot of other red tape. There is literally no way for this to be
a surprise to the production staff.

So Fallen has never made a joke at someone else's expense? Has never
been rude? If so, no wonder I dont find him funny, but I doubt this to
be the case.

I think an atmosphere of comedy affords people the luxury of crossing
the line. Whether I think a joke is funny is not the issue.
