Although Summit, the "Twilight" series indie studio, has no TV
activity, Lionsgate, reeling from a boardroom fight with Carl Icahn
and some bombs at the box office like the 3-D "Conan the Barbarian"
reboot (but with the long-awaited "Hunger Games" coming in the
spring), has a track record in television with cable series ("Mad
Men," "Weeds," Starz' "Boss") and its Debmar-Mercury syndication
division seems to specialize in lucrative first-run sitcom deals for
cable and syndication (the Tyler Perry shows for TBS, the Charlie
Sheen televersion of "Anger Management" for FX), along with the rerun
rights to "South Park," Wendy Williams and the reenegrized Steve
Harvey "Family Feud" (although Harvey is rumored to be considering
starting a talk show and leaving "Feud" next season):http://www.thewrap.com/movies/article/lionsgate-and-summit-new-merger-talks-33119 -- TV or Not TV .... The Smartest (TV) People!
