I recently signed up for notifications of when tickets will be available to attend tapings of "Top Gear US" but today I was sent information on how to claim "priority" tickets for "Let's Make A Deal" instead. I often drive by the KTLA lot where Deal is taped and have seen the line numerous times -- my priority is to get away from it as fast as possible. I used to work for On Camera Audiences, the company who handles ticketing for these shows, and I know they are a bare bones operation and they no doubt dump all incoming emails into a bulk mailing list. It annoys me that on the rare instance I might want to attend a taping I'm going to have to endure junk emails regarding things you couldn't pay me to see.
It is like when you foolishly sign one petition for a cause without realizing the end result is your mailbox gets molested with notices and pleas from every other do-good organization. Or when I buy a Robert B. Parker book on Amazon and Amazon "recommends" a bunch of authors I can't stand, just because they also write dimestore fiction. Done venting now... for now. -- Kevin M.
