I do. Usually I don't watch reality shows or talent searches. I sat
through a few seasons of American Idol but they played too much into
embarrassing poor candidates in the audition stage. Having never
watched the first season (and generally not watching non sports prime
time television in general) the show's gimmicks seem intriguing to
this newbie.

I want to see quality and not cringe worthy performances. They only
showed one completely rejected performance, as it seemed that the
producers passed him along based on effort and motivation rather than
talent (Daniel Rosa midway). The teams being 12 instead of eight like
last season (I read the Wikipedia article to catch up during
commercial) seem to be excessive. I don't see the audience connecting
with 48 people, as 32 is already a lot with each contestant singing
for 60 to 90 seconds at best. I also don't know how much of the
"mentoring" they will show or how cliched it will be. The first
episode was mostly filler free and only had one cliffhanger. Idol had
too much filler and too many fake cliffhangers. I'll give this show a
chance but once I fall off the wagon I doubt I'll come back.
