Which, by looking at the TV City web site, might be 56, which is on the
second floor built over the original four studios (as is current home 58),
has 260 permanent audience seats (the only other studio with permanent
seating besides 33, which is only "The Bob Barker Studio" in the minds of
"Price is Right""s staff) and a much bigger stage. Looking at the last
list of shows, 56 was only used in January for Bill Maher's Thursday night
run-throughs of material that he does with an audience (since 33 is still
changing over from "TPIR"). Australian talk show host Rove McManus was
using 56 in the fall (and "X Factor" used the studio as a rehearsal hall
and holding room while shooting across the street at 36), but one assumes
now he's back in Australia and that SCG would have five-night-a-week use of
the studio at 5:30 or whenever he tapes.
