I don't think I've ever come across this situation before regarding
commercial use of music. It seems to happen every election cycle now
that a songwriter gets peeved about a political campaign using his/her
music and demand that they stop. Political campaigns are short-lived
(even if they don't feel that way) and the music is used at live
events in front of relatively small audiences. This case is different
- the music is used daily and is broadcast across the country
(ignoring the Armed Forces Network). If a business pays the license
fee to play the music, how does a songwriter hold veto power?
