I was geeked out about Mad Men's return, and the geeking was justified with
a good episode. But...I underestimated the pain of those extra 2 minutes of
commercials. Wow.

This was advertised as a two hour premier, but it was really a 90 minute
episode in a 2 hour slot, so there were a hell of a lot of commercial
breaks, some that had the iconic Mad Men bumper, and some that did not. The
regular episodes will be 45 minutes in an hour slot, which I guess is the
same ratio, and it feels a like a LOT more commercials than previously.

I see in the excerpt I pasted here (see below) last year that they had
planned on showing the 47 minute "Director's Cut" of each episode On Demand
8 days later. I may try to manage my MM Jones well enough to wait and just
see that - perhaps with fewer commercials?
