Decided to keep this in its own thread rather than combining with the "song"
stuff...

The time slot was 2 hours and 8 minutes, actually. The above almost makes it
sound like it's the first time you've ever watched commercial television, where
I don't think anything's EVER been advertised using its running time without
commercials.

I watched Seasons 1-4 on Netflix over a few months late last year/early this
year, so this was the first time I ever watched an episode on AMC. It actually
seemed like there were fewer commercial breaks than I'm used to in other cable
shows; I can't really speak for the length of the breaks since I was watching
"delayed" via DVR and fast-forwarding through.

I was pleasantly surprised that, at least on the HD feed of AMC, the only
graphic on-screen was a fairly understated "AMC HD" logo in one corner. I'd
been expecting a "Mad Men Season Premiere" graphic to be on-screen throughout,
along with occasional graphics popping up to promote other AMC shows, maybe
also a continuous graphic saying "#MadMen" -- is it typical of AMC for the
screen to be relatively uncluttered, or is it another indication of Matthew
Weiner's clout?
