Probably. My favorite thing about the show was Edd Kalehoff's theme music with the out-of-control fiddle.
This was the creation of Barry Sand, the man who thought he saved the David Letterman morning show (even though it got cancelled), although Merrill Markoe probably deserved more of the credit. He initially produced "Late Night," but I believe Dave got him taken off for Robert "Morty" Morton. In between, Sand was NBC's man-on-set for "SCTV" (who I assumed was ignored by the "SCTV" gang) and after Letterman and before "Wilton North" he got NBC to license the "House Party" title from Art Linkletter and John Guedel for an unsuccessful syndicated daytime talk show hosted by Steve Doocy, the future "Fox and Friends" dimwit. After "Wilton North," he disappeared.
