I have found that the key is to listen to The Bugle before the Friday
Night Comedy podcast, which usually helps.

I gave up on Wait Wait because of its format. The contestant games
don't really give the panel much time to be funny. The panel questions
(which I would want to expand on) are usually so esoteric as to not be
about current events. And "Not My Job" is not unlike the guest
conductor at Cubs home games: both need to be dispatched as quickly as
possible, as they've outlived their value.
