Jim Packard was a golden-voiced staffer at Wisconsin Public Radio for over 30 years (with a career in Madison radio ranging back to the 60s), where he did voice-over work and produced talk shows, but people outside of Wisconsin knew him as the announcer, sidekick and often voice of reason on "Michael Feldman's Wha'd Ya Know?" for 27 years-although he retired from WPR at the end of 2010, he continued to work with Feldman every Saturday until 10 days ago--WPR's tribute page: http://wpr.org/announce/packard.cfm The Wisconsin State Journal says that Mr. Packard died after a year-long battle with cardiopulminary disease.
