Soledad would be a great replacement; she is more serious and less cute and
perky than her earlier Today years, but she can still be very charming and
engaging, and I think her combination of skills and strengths are perfectly
suited for the Today Show (more so than for her duties at CNN). I doubt the
decision-makers at Comcast are thinking that the road to restoring Today's
ratings glory and win the hears and minds of tens of millions of Americans
is to replace an Asian news reader with the multi-ethnic exotic beauty that
so titillates Stephen Colbert.
