But I liked Quantum Leap.

Of all the carping, the criticism of the time lag is most curious to me.
Why would the show be better if it was in real or fictional time and Sorkin
had to make up news events to play with? Wouldn't critics be accusing him
of teeing up straw men?

As I noted earlier, in terms of the romantic comedy elements I would agree
about superficial characters and contrived situations.
