I can remember when she was introduced at the end of season three. This was after Lorre et al had effectively blown off Sara Gilbert and simply made Melissa Rauch disappear. As much as I loved the series, I though it was on the verge of disaster because they simply couldn't figure out how to create and maintain a female character with brains. Bialik's performance combined with whatever happened in the writer's room gave me hope, and the show has improved greatly since then.
